One major stop per drive day
Long legs are already full days. Treat a museum, park, or historic site as the day's feature—not one item in a six-stop checklist.

The road-trip rule
This is not a minute-by-minute itinerary. It identifies memorable places close enough to the corridor to be considered, then leaves room for weather, energy, traffic, and the stops that matter most.
Long legs are already full days. Treat a museum, park, or historic site as the day's feature—not one item in a six-stop checklist.
The route favors I‑95, I‑78, I‑81, I‑40, I‑17, I‑15, I‑70, and I‑25. Local connectors are unavoidable at several anchors and parks.
Mileage is approximate. Construction, mountain weather, closures, and city traffic should decide the actual road and departure time.
